A very good and thought-provoking sermon (with some great quotes) by a man I consider a friend, and a fellow alumni for whom I have a lot of respect.
The following entry is the sermon given on Monday, January 12, 2015 in St. Andrew’s Chapel by Headmaster Byron Hulsey:
“Because sometimes things happen to people and they’re not equipped to deal with them.” According to Amazon, this quote from the second volume of The Hunger Games is the most highlighted passage, indeed it is highlighted almost twice as much, as any other passage in any book read on Kindle. “Because sometimes things happen to people and they’re not equipped to deal with them.” I read the first volume of The Hunger Games two years ago because I wanted to understand why the genre of dystopian literature has gripped young adult readers and adult readers alike.
